The subject of the article is Dependency Grammar (DG) as a tool of didactics of Italian as FL for Chinese speaking learners. We will obviously refer to the model developed by Francesco Sabatini for the didactics of Italian grammar started by Tesnière. The analysis was carried out on texts by learners attending a syntax course at Sichuan International Studies University (SISU) in Chongqing, China, held by the author in 201 5. The paper focuses on the wrinting instruction for Chinese learners of Italian as Foreign Language (IFL). In particular, it will deal (sections 1 and 2) with the role that the rich Chinese textual tradition, together with its cultural and pragmatic aspects, could play in learning IFL textual competence. In this perspective section3 will deal with data from some texts written by undergaduate students of the degree course in Italian of the Sichuan International Studies University.
